Cedar River Academy - Programs

Kindergarten

This program is designed to provide a more extensive exposure to language and literacy. Children develop and dictate stories about their own experiences. Daily reading takes place in the classroom. Opportunities to use writing and drawing to represent individual interpretations and ideas are plentiful at Cedar River Academy. Children also use math skills to organize and quantify data, as well as learn basic math skills.

A critical component of our approach to education is the use of thematic instruction that continues to deepen each child's general knowledge base. By integrating academic skills within a thematic structure, our children are able to see the usefulness of these skills, while learning about their world, recording their own thoughts and ideas.
